How to Print Landscape on Microsoft Word

Save

Included in the Microsoft Office suite of productivity software, Microsoft Word is one of the world's most widely used word processing tools. If you use Word to create standardized correspondence, such as a letter, memo or resume, the program's default portrait page layout will often be suitable to meet your needs. However, if you want to prepare a printable document that uses the landscape layout, such as a brochure, you will need to adjust the default setting. Word allows you to perform this task with only a few clicks.

  • Open in Microsoft Word the document you want to display in landscape format.

  • Select the "Page Layout" tab located near the top-left corner of the program window.

  • Look to the "Page Setup" section of the resulting menu bar.

  • Click the "Orientation" button and select the "Landscape" option. The next time you try to print the document, Word will automatically send it to the printer in landscape format.
