How to Reset the Netflix Menu

The Netflix menu provides you with a variety of viewing options based on the genres of movies you watch as well as the ratings you give films and television shows. Though you cannot specifically reset a Netflix menu, ways exist in which you can adjust what appears when you log on to the website or access it through your video game console. By giving Netflix feedback, you can encourage Netflix to provide you with viewing suggestions related to your actual tastes.

Rate Movies and TV You Watch

  • Click the number of stars next to the title that appears on your main Netflix homepage. This will give Netflix an idea of movies related to the title that can be suggested for viewing. If you don't like a movie, it is less likely Netflix will suggest a similar title on your Netflix menu.

  • Answer survey questions that appear on your homepage. After you watch a movie, it may ask something such as "How often do you watch foreign romantic comedies?" The question will have multiple choice answers such as "Often," "Sometimes" or "Never," and this will help Netflix personalize the menu to your tastes.

  • Rate movies you have recently watched on instant streaming. When you click "Your Queue" followed by "Instant," it will show you what you've watched lately. Click "See All" to see everything you've watched. Spend time rating films and television shows by clicking the number of stars you want to rate the program.

Reset Your Queue

  • Adjust your queue menu on Netflix by clicking "Your Queue" on the Netflix website.

  • Choose "DVD" or "Instant," depending on which queue you wish to reset.

  • Click the "X" under "Remove" next to the movies or TV show. Do this until you have no items in your queue.
