The AppleCare Protection Plan is an optional plan offered by Apple to extend the warranty and phone support offered on Apple products. Most Apple products come with 90 days of complimentary telephone support and a one-year limited warranty. The AppleCare Protection Plan extends both of these features to a full three years after the purchase of your Apple computer, or two years after the purchase of your iPod, iPhone or iPad. To view the amount of time remaining on your service plan, log onto the Apple website.

  • Locate the serial number of your device. To locate the serial number of an Apple computer, click the Apple logo in the top-right corner of the screen and then select "About This Mac." If the serial number is not displayed, click "More Info..." in the About This Mac window to display the computer's serial number. To locate the serial number of an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, touch the "Settings" icon and then choose "General." Touch "About" from the General menu to display the device's serial number.

  • Visit Apple's Check Your Service and Support Coverage website.

  • Enter the serial number of your Apple product, and then click "Continue."

  • Locate the AppleCare Protection Plan label, which contains the expiration date of your AppleCare Protection Plan.
