Most multimedia phones come with a plethora of entertainment capabilities, and music playback is one of the most popular. While MP3 downloads can be purchased directly from the service provider, there are other ways to send music to your phone. Luckily, with synchronization capabilities, you can send your music downloads from the FrostWire peer-to-peer file sharing client directly to your phone. By connecting your phone to a computer, you can easily copy and paste FrostWire music downloads to the phone's internal memory for playback.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer
  • USB-compatible phone
  • USB sync cable
  • FrostWire music stored to the computer
  • Attach the phone to the computer by plugging a USB sync cable into the proper USB ports. The computer will display a notification, and the phone may give off an alert indicating that the connection has been established.

  • Select the "USB Mode" or "USB Connection" setting if it pops up on the phone's screen once the connection is established. This enables the phone to accept the connection.

  • Access your computer's "Documents" or "My Documents" folder. Then, locate and click the "FrostWire" sub-folder.

  • Click the "Saved" or "Shared" folder within the FrostWire folder to access your FrostWire music files.

  • Press and hold your CTRL key. Then, click once on each FrostWire music file title you want to send to your phone.

  • Right-click one of the selected FrostWire music files, and click "Copy."

  • Go to "My Computer" to access the operating system explorer on the computer. The system explorer's main screen will open to your computer's local disk and removable storage icons.

  • Double-click the phone's removable storage icon. Then, right-click the "Media" or "Music" folder. Click "Paste" to send all of your selected FrostWire music files to your phone.

Tips & Warnings

  • While files can also be transferred via Bluetooth, Bluetooth is not recommended for sending FrostWire music to your phone. Bluetooth is usually utilized to transfer one file at a time, which can be relatively time consuming when sending MP3s to your phone.
  • All cell phones are not USB compatible. Therefore, sending music from FrostWire to your phone may not always be possible. This depends solely on the cell phone model you have.
  • All phones have a substantial amount of storage space for multimedia files. Be sure not to overload your cell phone with too many files, as this can make your phone run slow.
