How to Enable JavaScripts

JavaScript is an essential programming feature that allows you to read the text that appears on the websites that you visit while on the Internet. JavaScript is needed for nearly every website you could think of, so knowing how Java is enabled on your browser is important. While it is normally enabled automatically upon downloading a browser, it can sometimes be disabled accidentally while you are browsing the Web. When this occurs, it can easily be turned back on.

  • Open Internet Explorer. It can be found either on your desktop or under your Start menu.

  • Click "Tools," which can be found at the top right-hand side of the browser when you open it.

  • Select the "Internet Options" tab.

  • Click on the tab that is labeled "Advanced."

  • Scroll down until you see the "JavaScript" setting under the advanced options. Clicking the box next to "JavaScript" will enable it on your computer. Click "Save Settings" and exit.
