How to Enable or Disable Closed Captioning on a Time Warner HD Cable Box
Time Warner provides high-definition, or HD, cable boxes to their digital subscribers. The HD boxes have several functions, including closed captioning. This feature allows those with hearing impairments to understand the dialogue on television shows, or on television stations that subscribe to the captioning service. You can turn the captioning off so that the words will not always appear on the screen, or turn it on whenever you need the captioning. You can access the captions from the "Settings" button on the remote or from the "Menu" function.
