Instructions

1
Cut off power to the old thermostat. Flip the circuit breaker in your electrical box to off for this portion of the house.
-
2
Remove the old model from the wall. Pop the cover off if its two pieces and then unscrew the back. Otherwise, if it's one piece, unscrew the whole thing.
-
-
3
Leave the wires connected to the old thermostat and note their placement. Unscrew each one individually from each terminal of the back plate. Disconnect the cover of the Coleman Mach from the base.
-
4
Connect each wire to the back of the Coleman Mach using the letter guides. "Y" represents the terminal for the yellow wire, "G" for green, "R" for red and "O" for orange. Some wiring systems may have a white wire instead of orange, in which case you'd substitute the two.
-
5
Tighten down the screw from each terminal. Drill new holes with an electric drill if necessary, otherwise use the holes from the old model.
-
6
Replace the cover. Return power to this section of the house by flipping the circuit breaker back to the on position. Program the thermostat to the desired temperature after it comes on.
