1
Practice moving your fingers without a quarter for a while. Keep your fingers close together so that your knuckles are touching. Raise your first finger, then your next finger, then your next finger. This is the same hand motion you will make when it comes time to roll a quarter across your knuckles. By practicing without the quarter, you can have better control over your finger movements and won't have to deal with dropping a quarter on the ground every few seconds.

2
Place your fingers close together so that the knuckles are touching. Place a quarter on the knuckle of your first finger. Raise that finger enough so that gravity pulls the quarter down onto the knuckle of the next finger. Raise that finger so that gravity pulls the quarter down onto the knuckle of the next finger. Start very slowly and repeat this process so that you can see and understand exactly what is going on and what forces are at work when you roll a quarter across your knuckles.

Increase your finger movement speed gradually over time. After you get the quarter from one end of your hand to the other across your knuckles, repeat the process but go a little faster. Once you are comfortable at that speed, repeat the process but go a little faster. Continue to gradually increase your speed over time until you feel comfortable going as fast as you can.
