Lanyards are typically worn around the neck to hold name badges and other objects such as keys and whistles. Lanyards are constructed from various materials and can be customized to fit any event or purpose. A metal or plastic strap clip is attached to the lanyard, which is used to secure the ID card. Some lanyards have a retractable attachment end. Lanyards are commonly used in schools, conventions, government offices, parties, promotions, sporting events and theme parks.
Look for the attachment end of the lanyard. The attachment will vary by lanyard. It may have a key chain, clip, hook or plastic sleeve.
Attach your item to the lanyard. You can attach a work ID badge, keys or a key fob. Some lanyards are made to hold an MP3 player, a stop watch or flash drive.
Wear the lanyard around your neck like a necklace or on your wrist like a bracelet. Some lanyards, however, are designed to be attached to a belt loop.
