It is annoying when you are dressing for an important meeting or event and you notice unsightly scuff marks on your shoes. One solution is to rush out and purchase a new pair of shoes so that you show up at the event in tip top shape. A quicker and less expensive solution is to repair the scuff marks. Repairing scuff marks is simple and only requires a few minutes of your time.

Things You'll Need

  • Cloth
  • Wax-based shoe polish
  • Shoe buffing brush

Remove the shoe laces from the shoes if they are in the way. Wipe the shoes with a damp cloth to remove dust, dirt and other contaminants from the surface of the shoe.

Purchase a wax-based shoe polish that matches the color of the shoe. A wax-based shoe polish will cover the scuff marks more thoroughly.

Apply the shoe polish to the scuff marks with a lint free cloth. Read the shoe polish instructions. Use small, circular motions to apply the polish and allow the shoe polish to sit on the shoe for a few minutes. Wipe off excess shoe polish around the area with a clean cloth.

Buff the repaired area with a shoe brush until it shines. Examine the area of scuff marks. Repeat the procedure if the scuff marks are still slightly visible.
