How to Equip Gems in "WOW"

"World of Warcraft" introduced a system in the "Burning Crusade" expansion pack using gems to give a bonus for various game stats. Red gems help offense, blue gems help healing and recovery and yellow gems increase various rating stats like critical strikes, haste or dodging. Using these gems is simple and only requires a gem and an item with an appropriate socket to be filled in.

Instructions

1. Hover the mouse cursor over the gem. This will show the attributes for any given gem.

2. Hold the "Shift" button, and right-click on the gem to bring up the "Item Socketing" window.

3. Drag the gem from its position, and drop it into the appropriate socket.

Tips & Warnings

• Gems can go into any available socket, but arranging them by color will give you a bonus stat specific to any given gem. Red gems should go into red sockets whenever possible, blue gems should go in blue sockets, etc.

• A gem cannot be removed once it has been placed into a socket. A new gem can replace it, but the old gem will be destroyed in the process.
