The face is a critical part of communication—when we are happy, sad, surprised or upset, it can be seen on our faces. Since it is the first thing many people notice about us, keeping the face looking its best is a smart thing you can do for yourself. Masks are an important element in this process. Using these homemade face masks for combination skin once a week will cleanse, exfoliate and clear the skin of impurities.

Things You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp. nonfat dry milk powder
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • Blender
  • Washcloth
  • 1 Packet unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • Microwave safe bowl

Apricot Facial Mask

Place one-half cup dried apricots, one-half cup warm water, one tbsp. nonfat dry milk powder and one tbsp. honey in a blender.

Blend until smooth.

Spread on your face and leave on for 15 minutes.

Rinse off with tepid water and pat dry with washcloth.

Gelatin Fruit Juice Mask

Combine one packet gelatin and one-half cup apple juice in a clean, microwave safe bowl. Heat gently approximately 45 seconds to one minute in the microwave on high to dissolve the gelatin.

Place the gelatin in the refrigerator and cool until almost set.

Spread a thin layer of the gelatin over your face and allow to dry.

Peel off and rinse your face thoroughly with cool, clear water. Pat dry with a washcloth.
