How to Change a Local LAN Ethernet Address With Vista

The Internet Protocol (IP) address of a computer is how the computer is referenced on a network. Every computer on a local area network (LAN) must have a unique IP address. If two devices that access the network have the same IP address, one must be changed. The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server provides new addresses automatically. Alternatively, you can specify a new IP address manually.
