How to Reset Firmware in Macs
Resetting the firmware in a Mac should be performed with caution and only if it is necessary. Reasons why Mac users reset firmware include error messages after the Mac is turned on or problems related to system and device settings not being retained. The presence of these problems might be due to an issue with the battery. If that is not the case, consider resetting the parameter RAM and the non-volatile RAM.
