How to Use Tissue Paper in a Wedding Invitation

Putting together wedding invitations can be challenging, especially if there are several parts in your invitation kit. Tissue paper is an elegant addition to wedding invitations and should be incorporated into the invitation correctly. After all, this is one of your life's most important events. Whether you purchase your invitations or print them yourself, the assembly remains the same.

Things You'll Need

  • Invitations
  • Tissue paper
  • Envelopes

Tissue Paper for Card-Style Invitations

  • Print the details of the wedding on the invitation stock paper, including the time, date, location, and names of the bride and groom.

  • Allow the ink on the invitations to dry for a few minutes.

  • Place a piece of tissue paper on top of each wedding invitation to keep the ink from smudging.

  • Slide the invitations, with the tissue paper, into the envelope.

  • Put the place cards, response cards or other enclosures in the envelope, in front of the tissue paper.

Using Tissue Paper for Folded Invitations

  • Print the necessary information on the wedding invitations, and give the ink a minute or two to dry.

  • Fold the invitations in half horizontally or vertically, so that the guest can read the words from left to right when the invitation is opened.

  • Place the tissue paper inside the invitation over the printing to prevent smudging. The tissue paper should be covering the invitation wording when guests open the invitation.

  • Place the reception card or any other enclosures on top of the tissue paper, and close the invitation before placing it in the envelope.
