How to Hang an Ikea Wine Rack
The furniture and housewares company Ikea specializes in pieces that can be used in different ways, not the least of which is the Vurm wine rack. The Vurm wine rack is a stainless-steel rack capable of holding four bottles of wine, and you can use it in one of two ways. You can either lay it flat on its back or hang it on the wall -- as of February 2011, it is the only Ikea wine rack that you can hang up. To make sure that it hangs sturdily and is capable of supporting your bottles, you need to take the proper precautions when hanging it. Does this Spark an idea?

Use a stud finder to find studs in your wall, if applicable. A stud is the most secure place to hang anything, especially something like a wine rack that is used for supporting weight.

Determine where exactly you want to hang your wine rack. Hold the rack up against the wall in that spot and place the level on top of it. Rotate your level from side to side until it is perfectly level.

Place the tip of a pencil through each of the wine rack's four holes to mark where you need to drill. Set your wine rack down out of the way.

Drill four holes into the wall where you marked with your pencil and push a screw anchor into each hole.

Line your wine rack back up with the holes where the anchors now are. Use the power drill to screw four screws through the wine rack holes and into the anchors -- the wine rack is now in place and ready to hold your wine bottles.
