How to Remove the Clutch Master Cylinder on a 3000GT
The Mitsubishi 3000GT's clutch system uses hydraulic pressure to engage and disengage the clutch. This system consists of three main components: clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder and hydraulic lines. The clutch master cylinder holds the DOT3 brake fluid used as as the hydraulic fluid and creates the hydraulic pressure needed to activate the clutch. As the master cylinder ages, the internal seals may begin to wear out causing the clutch to not operate properly. When this occurs, the clutch master cylinder must be removed and rebuilt or replaced.

Slide a drain pan under the vehicle and under the clutch master cylinder.

3
Loosen and remove the hard metal line connecting to the master cylinder, using a line wrench.

Open the driver's side door and slide the driver's seat all the way back. Trace the clutch pedal stalk upward until you find where it connects to the shaft from the clutch master cylinder. Pull the retaining pin from the clevis pin---the pin holding the shaft to the clutch pedal stalk. Pull the clevis pin from the shaft and the clutch pedal stalk.
