Epoxy Shield can be used to cover garage floors.

Epoxy Shield is a product by Rust-Oleum that's designed to cover and seal driveways, patios, basement floors, and garage floors. Applying protective coatings such as Epoxy Shield to your indoor and outdoor floors and surfaces helps to avoid cracking, mold, mildew, and damage from weather and UV rays. Instructions

    • 1

Scrub any oil or grease spots on the floor with Epoxy Shield heavy-duty de-greaser to remove them. Rinse the spots with fresh water when you're finished, and repeat the process until the area is clean.

    • 2

Mix the Epoxy Shield according to the manufacturer's instructions for the specific product you're using. Epoxy Shield offers different products including garage floor coatings, basement floor coatings, blacktop sealing, and concrete floor coatings. Let the mixture stand for the time indicated for that product.

    • 3

Apply one even coat of Epoxy Shield with a 1/2-inch-nap roller and 9-inch roller frame. Roll the mixture over the surface in 4-foot-by-4-foot sections.

    • 4

Maintain a wet edge with each pass of the roller to avoid seeing lap marks in the finished job. Wait for 12 to 16 hours to allow light foot traffic, 24 to 48 hours for normal foot traffic, and three days for vehicle traffic.
