Water Softener Valve Fleck Instructions

"Hard" water gathers minerals as it passes through the soil.

There's more to your home's water than just water. When your home's water has an excess of minerals such as calcium, magnesium or iron, it is referred to as "hard" water. So-called hard water can lead to mineral buildup on fixtures and make your soap and detergents less effective. Machines known as water softeners or water conditioners use special salts in a brine that helps remove unwanted chemicals, thereby "softening" your water. The Fleck water softener valve allows careful control of the exchange of brine into your home's water system.

Instructions

First-Time Use

1. Push the Extra Regeneration button and hold it for five seconds to start an immediate extra regeneration. The Extra Regeneration button features an icon with four arrows moving in a clockwise direction. Wait until the valve display shows Regen Step #1 and allow the water to drain for about five minutes.

2. Push the Extra Regeneration button once to advance the valve to Regen Step #2.

3. Push the Extra Regeneration button again to advance the valve to Regen Step #3. Repeat this process until the valve display shows Regen Step #4, then Regen Step #5.

4. Push the Extra Regeneration button to set the valve back in Service mode.

Normal Use

1. Set the time by pushing either the up or down arrow buttons on the Fleck water softener valve. Push and hold either arrow button to cycle through the numbers more quickly.

2. Push the Extra Regeneration button to begin an extra regeneration cycle later that day. Press and hold the button to immediately begin an extra regeneration.

3. Set the Treated Water Capacity by pressing and holding the up and down arrows for five seconds, then press the up or down arrows until the display shows the desired amount of water to be treated.

4. Set the Regeneration Time by pressing and holding the up and down arrows for five seconds and pressing the Extra Regeneration button. Push the up and down arrows until the display shows the desired regeneration time. Press the Extra Regeneration button to exit the program.

5. Set the Regeneration Day Override by pressing the up and down arrows for five seconds, then press the Extra Regeneration button. Press the up and down arrows until the display shows the desired number of days between regenerations. Press the Extra Regeneration button to exit the program.
