How to Wire a Polaris Winch
A Polaris ATV or Ranger will take you places few other vehicles can't. Their light weight and all-wheel-drive capability are suitable for many rugged conditions. Occasionally you will get your vehicle stuck in a deep mud pit and need to get it out yourself. A Polaris winch can assist in this task by providing the pulling power required to rescue the ATV. A winch works by delivering power from an electric motor through a gearing system to a spool of wire.

1
Drill a hole in the dash of the ATV the size of the switch's diameter. Push the switch into the hole and fasten it from the rear with the nut provided.

Run the positive wire from the winch to the switch. Connect this wire to one of the switch wires with a butt connector. A butt connector works by placing a stripped wire in each end and compressing with pliers.

Attach the other wire from the fuse holder to the positive terminal on the battery.

Run the negative wire from the winch to the battery. Fasten this wire to the negative terminal on the battery.
