How to Build a Winning MTG Deck With Only Commons
Magic the Gathering (MTG) is a trading card game in which players engage in battles via the summons of creatures and spells. The players are known as planeswalkers. A player builds an MTG deck with his favorite monsters, mana color, traps and spells. Cards of all types are available in a different grade, from common to rare. Building a deck composed of only common cards, also known as commons, offers more challenging magic duels with your fellow planeswalkers.

1
Choose one mana color that matches your style. Red is fast and takes down your opponent as soon as possible. White grants protections and neutralizes your opponents' assaults. Blue controls the battlefield and draws cards the fastest. Black harms you and your opponents. Green creates many creatures and attempts to overrun an opponent with numbers.

Select a type of creature that offers a synergy. Goblins from the red decks have bonuses affecting all goblins. Take advantage of the bonuses that are granted for having the same kind of creatures on the battlefield.

Build a 60-card deck. Include a minimum of 21 land cards and 24 creatures cards. Add instants, sorcerers, traps and spells to round up most of the deck, and finish with enchantments. Play on the strength of your chosen mana color. For example, control the battlefield with blue spells.
