Instructions

    • 1

Connect a garden hose to the water valve on the power washer and turn on the water flow. If the power washer has a tank instead of a valve, fill the tank with water to the maximum fill line indicated.

    • 2

Attach an extension wand to the end of the power washer wand so that you can reach the entire roof easily. Attach a 0 degree tip to the end of the power washer wand and set the pounds-per-square-inch (PSI) on the pressure washer to the highest setting, typically 1,800.

    • 3

Place a ladder next to the building and climb up onto it with the pressure washer or with just the wand, depending on the height of the building.

    • 4

Turn on the pressure washer and direct the spray at a downward angle onto the metal roof. Move the pressure washer wand in side-to-side motions over the entire roof to remove all debris and stains. Work your way from the top of the roof to the bottom.

Tips & Warnings

  • Rewash the metal roof on a yearly basis to prevent stains and algae from building up.

  • Do not direct the spray into cracks near chimney flashing since the water can seep inside the house.
