How to Publish on Amazon
If you are looking for different ways to sell your book, do not overlook Amazon. Get your book published on Amazon using Kindle, a way for people to upload your book to an electronic reader, or CreateSpace, where you publish an online ad listing the book.

Prepare your book for publishing by copying the book's entirety to a Microsoft Word document and saving the file. (For Kindle's formatting guidelines, see Resources)

Log in to your Amazon account. If you do not have an account, create one on Amazon's website. (See Resources)

Visit Amazon's "Kindle Publishing" page. (See Resources)

Click "Sign in." You are directed to your Kindle publishing dashboard. An agreement prompt appears.

Agree to the two pop-up prompts that appear.

Select "Add a new title."

Fill out the "Book Basics" form, which includes the title and description. You also have the option of listing a volume and series number.

Fill out the "Publishing Details" section, including the language, publication date, ISBN number and publisher.

Fill in the "Publishing Rights" section. You must list if the item is or is not public domain.

Fill in the "Browse and Search" section, where you list the item's category and keywords.

Complete the "Product Image" section if your book has a cover. Click "Browse for image," then upload it from your computer.

Complete the "Book Content" section. Click "Browse for book" and upload the file.

Click "Save and Continue."

Fill out the "Rights and Pricing" form on the resulting page.

Click "Save and Publish." You are taken back to the dashboard.

Select "Publish."
CreateSpace

Log in to your Amazon account. If you do not have an account, create one on Amazon's website. (See Resources)

Make a CreateSpace account. (See Resources)

Go to your CreateSpace "Dashboard."

Select "Add New Title."

Enter your book's information into the field's listed on the form.

Upload PDF copies of your book, including the cover, by clicking "Browse." If you do not have a cover, use the cover creator option. After the upload completes, CreateSpace provides pricing data based on how much it costs to publish the book.

Enter pricing details for you book. CreateSpace has a minimum cost for the book based on publishing costs. You cannot price the book below this cost.

Select "Amazon" as your source for publishing.

Submit the form. CreateSpace notifies you when the book is published on Amazon. This can take up to 15 business days, according to CreateSpace.
