A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a type of savings account offered by many banks and financial institutions. A HSA is a tax-advantaged account recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). You can use account proceeds from your HSA account to pay for eligible medical expenses. To check the balance of your HSA account, you can check your periodic account statement, call the customer service number for your HSA or log on to your HSA's Web portal.
Check the periodic billing statement for your HSA. Your periodic account statement will itemize any additions or subtractions to your HSA for the statement period and list your total account balance.
Call the customer service phone number associated with your HSA. Listen to the touch-tone prompts and select the option to listen to your account balance. Alternatively, you can select the option to speak with a customer service representative. Ask the customer service representative for your HSA balance.
Log on to the website for your HSA. Select the option to sign up for online access to your HSA account. Enter the requested information to complete the registration process. As part of the registration process you will create a user name and password to access your HSA online. Enter the user name and password and click the "Log In" button. Select your HSA account to view your account balance.
