How to Install Braces for Mini Blinds
Look closely at the top of a window blind and you will see that the actual blind is not installed on the window. There is a set of two to three braces that are secured to the window molding, and the blinds are placed in these braces. The main job when installing mini blinds is placing these braces in the proper location and making sure they are going to stay in place. Does this Spark an idea?

Hold the top of the window blind up against the window molding. Make sure the blind is level and centered over the window. Use a pencil to mark the location of the edges of the blind on the molding.

Place the end of one bracket next to one of the pencil marks, centered on the molding. Position the bracket so that its opening is facing the center of the window. Use a pencil to mark the holes where the screws will go. Repeat with the other bracket on the opposite side of the window.

Drill a pilot hole through the pencil-marked screw holes, using a 1/16-inch drill bit.

Line up one of the brackets with its corresponding pilot holes. Place the provided screws into the pilot holes and tighten to hold the bracket in place. Repeat with the second bracket.

Measure between the two brackets to mark the center. Place the center brace on this mark. Mark the screw holes for the center brace.

Use the 1/16-inch drill bit to drill the pilot holes for the center brace. Line up the holes in the brace with the pilot holes. Use the provided screws to secure the brace.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure each bracket is centered on the window molding so that your blinds do not hang crooked.
Keep the braces at least 1/4 inch from all edges of the molding to prevent the molding from splitting.
