How to Use a Bluetooth As a Walkie-Talkie

Save

Some Bluetooth headsets now have the ability to connect to one another, and so can be used as walkie talkies. This is not a function that features on all Bluetooth headsets, but devices such as the Callpod Dragon have the ability to connect directly to one another. This is useful if you need to communicate with someone within a certain radius (typically 328 feet for these headsets) and do not want to shout out loud or use other mobile forms of telecommunication.

  • Turn your first headset on, it will typically enter discoverable mode.

  • Turn your second headset on. This too will enter discoverable mode.

  • Press the volume button in once on one device shortly followed by on the second device. They should flash red together and connect. These are now connected and can be used like walkie talkies.
