How to Use Sysprep With Acronis


Sysprep is a utility for system administrators on Microsoft Windows-based networks. Sysprep automates Windows installations by configuring a computer to use a set of default settings and a CD key prepared by the administrator. Sysprep can also allow custom Windows images that have a set of software pre-loaded to be installed.This allows for deployment, automated installations and periodic reinstallations of Windows without user interaction. Acronis TrueImage can restore a system to the point where Sysprep loads, allowing administrators to create an image of a reinstalling Windows system for speedy restores.

  • Open the Start menu and type "Acronis TrueImage," then press "Enter."

  • Click "New," then "Sysprep Install."

  • Select your Sysprep installation image for Windows from your hard drive when the "Open" window appears on the screen. Click it, then click "OK."

  • Wait as Acronis TrueImage generates a new backup image that contains the Sysprep configuration.

  • Select a location to install the backup to on your network or hard drive when the "Save" dialogue appears on your screen. Click "Save." You have now generated a new Acronis TrueImage backup that makes use of Sysprep.
