Instructions

    • 1

Cut a wrapper from a stick of gum in half lengthwise. Fold one of these halves in half again. Unfold the wrapper and fold the bottom up half way so the bottom meets the center crease. Fold the top of the wrapper half way down to the center crease. Fold the wrapper in half again.

    • 2

Fold the wrapper in half, joining the long ends together. Unfold the ends and fold in both ends so they meet at the center crease.

    • 3

Repeat the previous two steps with the other half of the wrapper. Once both sides are folded, link the two together by sliding the two ends of one wrapper into the folded slots of the other wrapper.

    • 4

Add to each link until the desired length of the bag has been accomplished. Continue making the chains until the desired width of the bag has been achieved.

    • 5

Overlap two chains, and use a needle with nylon thread to sew the two chains together. Continue sewing the chains together until you have achieved the desired height of the bag. Sew the bottom of the bag closed with the same technique used with the chains.

    • 6

Attach a hook or snap to the bag by sewing each side to the top of the bag. Use nylon thread to sew these on as well.

    • 7

Create a handle for the purse. Use nylon thread and sew another chain of gum wrappers to each end of the bag. This serves as the handle for the bag.
