The term Emo is used in many ways. Some use it to describe a fashion, or particular musical tastes and some use it to describe a subculture lifestyle. No matter how you use the term, there is a type of look that is particular to Emo. This look is neither difficult, nor expensive to achieve. - Black hair dye
- Hair gel

- Emo band T-shirt

Dye your hair black, if it isn't already. You can use a temporary color -- even a spray-on hair color -- if you aren't sure if you want to keep this look.

Apply a quarter-sized amount of hair gel to your hair. Comb your hair straight, and your bangs to fall loosely over one eye. If your bangs aren't long enough to do this, just do what you can to make your hair look straight and floppy.

Wear dark skinny jeans. For your shirt, wear either a band T-shirt from your favorite Emo band, or a casual button down shirt, untucked.

Put on a pair of skater shoes to complete the outfit.

Apply just a touch of black eyeliner beneath the eyes. Soulful eyes are important to Emo style, for both guys and girls.
