How to Create a School Newspaper Template

School newspapers are a great way to inform students, faculty and parents alike about school news and events. They are used to publicize everything from health warnings to the results of a sporting event. School newspapers are usually student-run, relying on members of the student body to write and edit articles. However, before any newspaper can be published, a template needs to be made. The template will organize where the articles will go and under what section they will appear.

Instructions

1. Create a banner that will appear on the top of the front page. This will have the newspaper's name and date of distribution.

2. Divide the newspaper into relavent sections. For example, news, sports, theater,and "music."

3. Sort the articles you have into their relevant sections. The most important piece of news should go on the front page. Generally the article that is most important in each section will be on the top, then the rest of the articles in order of importance will follow. Make sure the articles have titles and subtitles that are written in larger font.

4. Add images. You may wish to include captions beneath. The images should be large enough to understand what they are showing but not so that they dominate the entire page. Format the images so that they are integrated with the text.

5. Add page numbers. You may also add in the section next to the page number.

6. Reference the newspaper team and its article distributers on the last page.
