How to Find the LPAR Number on the AS/400
IBM originally introduced the AS/400 processor family in 1988 and rebranded the system as the iSeries in 2000. One of the biggest enhancements to these newer model processors is that they allow IT managers to logically partition the system's hardware resources into multiple computing environments, each of which is termed an LPAR (Logical PARtition). Each LPAR is assigned a separate system name and partition number. Working with any of the partitions is accomplished using HMC (Hardware Maintenance Console).
