How to Wash an LL Bean Backpack

LL Bean is known for its craftsmanship and variety of goods; the company carries items ranging from children's clothing to adult outerwear. An LL Bean backpack is used by children to carry their books, and by hikers to carry gear on a long trek. The backpack will usually become soiled and require a good washing. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

• Small bowl
• 2 cups water
• 1 tbsp. liquid dish soap
• Household sponge
• Unwanted toothbrush
• Damp cloth
• Drying rack or outdoor clothesline

Instructions

1. Remove all of the backpack's contents. Unzip any side pockets and remove their contents.

2. Flip the backpack over a garbage can. Shake any debris or food particles out of the bottom of the backpack.

3. Fill a small bowl with 2 cups of warm water and 1 tbsp. of liquid dish soap.

4. Soak a household sponge in the mixture. Wipe any noticeable stains off the interior and exterior of the pack.

5. Dip an unwanted toothbrush into the soapy water, and scrub any difficult stains.

6. Wipe down the entire interior and exterior of the LL Bean backpack with a damp cloth. This removes any remaining soapy residue.

7. Hang the backpack on a drying rack or outdoor clothes line.
