The Modine Hot Dawg is a small unit heater that is designed to heat your workshop space or garage. The Hot Dawg comes in 30,000, 45,000, 60,000 and 75,000 BTU/hr inputs and is certified for commercial, residential or industrial use. The heater works off a standard thermostat and is fueled with either natural gas or propane. You can troubleshoot a couple of specific problems with the Hot Dawg, but you will need to call a qualified technician for most issues.
Set the thermostat higher than room temperature and inspect the circuit breaker if the heater is not igniting.
Check the burner to make sure it is properly lit, and wait at least five minutes for the room to heat up well if the air coming out of the Hot Dawg seems cool.
Open all the windows and go to a neighbor's house to phone the gas company if you smell gas coming from the Hot Dawg. Call the fire department if you cannot get in touch with the gas company.
