How to Remove Hair With Turmeric Paste

Turmeric is a mustard-colored spice that originated in Asia. Many users believe in the spice's medical and beautifying capabilities. One of the many uses for turmeric, especially in India, is for hair removal. While a turmeric paste will help to remove unwanted hair, it does not completely inhibit hair growth. Turmeric must be used for several months, if not an entire year, before the user will notice a significant decline in hair growth or hair shaft thickness.

Things You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup turmeric powder
  • Bowl
  • Milk
  • Washcloth
  • Towel

Step 1

Add 1/2 cup of turmeric powder to a bowl. Do not purchase cooking turmeric, as this will leave your skin with an orange tint. The orange tint will last approximately five days. However, regular turmeric powder will still leave your skin with a faint, yellow tint.

Step 2

Add the milk directly to the turmeric powder. Add the milk 1 tbsp. at a time, stirring as you work. Once the contents of the bowl resemble a paste, stop adding milk.

Step 3

Apply the paste to the unwanted hair. Allow the paste to dry completely.

Step 4

Remove the dry paste by rubbing with a dry washcloth. Use a circular motion with medium to firm pressure. Continue until all of the paste has been removed.

Step 5

Wash away any remaining paste with cool water and pat dry with a towel. Repeat the process the next time you need to remove unwanted hair.
