You can make your own pretend play food using play dough.

Children like to pretend to make food in a play kitchen and to act like they are keeping house. While you can buy pretend food for your child's play kitchen, play food bought at toy stores often costs a lot of money and can sometimes contain toxic chemicals in the paint. One solution is to make your own play food to stock your child's kitchen. For example, you can make pretend ice cream scoops out of homemade play dough.
