Automatic door locks are available on many new cars, trucks and SUVs. This feature on the Honda Accord allows drivers to program the automatic door locks. Drivers may program them according to preferences, to engage at a certain speed or when the car is in a certain gear, etc. They can also completely disable the feature.

  • Place the vehicle in "Park."

  • Turn the key in the ignition until it is set to "On."

  • Open the driver's side door and press and hold the "Unlock" button for approximately five seconds, until you hear a click.

  • Release the switch and turn the key to the "Lock" position. The key must be turned within five seconds of releasing the unlock button.
