Hi-5 is a TV series based in Australia that began in 1999. As of 2010, the show is still running. The characters from the show also have a band with the same name. The show is geared toward toddlers and children up to 8 years of age, and is bright, fun and quirky. In addition to the five human cast members, there are also several puppets featured on the show. If your child loves Hi-5, consider throwing him a Hi-5 party for his birthday or any other special occasion.
Things You'll Need
- Hi-5 party supplies
- Colored paper
- Color printer
- Party cups
- Cake mix
- Orange, yellow and purple frosting
- Hi-5 CD
Look for Hi-5 party materials online. Since the show is based in Australia, it can be hard to find Hi-5 materials in other countries' party supply stores. However, there is a wealth of Hi-5 party supplies available online. If you do not want to pay the shipping for the materials, you can always make your own.
Ask the guests dress as their favorite character from the show. You can also have the adults dress up as the cast members or with other bright and funky clothing.
Make hand-shaped invitations to mail to party guests. Use brightly colored paper and decorate the invitations with characters from the show.
Print pictures of the Hi-5 emblem and characters using a computer and printer. Glue the pictures onto the outside of cups and hang up on the walls.
Choose brightly colored decorations to decorate the party room. Some of the main colors used in the Hi-5 show are pink, yellow, sky blue, purple, red and orange. Hang balloons all over the room.
Make a cake in the shape of a high five. Bake a rectangular cake and cut out a circle to make the palm of the hand. Use the extra cake to make the five fingers on the hand. Frost the cake purple, then write "Hi-5" on the cake. Make the word "Hi" yellow, the dash red and the five orange, just like the logo.
Play one or several of the Hi-5 music CDs as the background for the party.
Play games that fit in with the Hi-5 theme. Musical chairs with a Hi-5 song as the music is a fun way to bring the show to life for children. If the party is outdoors, give each child a container of bubbles and allow them to make bubbles all over the yard. Bubbles also make great pictures.
Take plenty of pictures throughout the party so you can remember the event forever. Use a digital camera so you can take an unlimited number of pictures.
