Wearing the right costume for a dance party can make a real difference between an average night and a great night. Designing your own samba costume will give you the opportunity to be creative and to save a lot of money. A samba costume needs to be colorful and needs to suit the theme of the event where you want to wear it. A combination of bra tops with short pants or skirts is a common Samba costume; add some glittering items, feathers and a shiny belt to personalize it.
Things You'll Need
- Bikini set
- Feather boa
- Shiny belt
- Small colored feathers
- Instant glue
- Three large feathers
- Hair grip
- Make-up set
- High-heel shoes
Wrap a feather boa around the bikini waistband and sew it on. Let the ends of the feather boa hang over your knees. Sew a shiny belt below the feather boa around the waistband.
Glue small colored feathers onto the bra part of the bikini using the instant glue.
Decorate the bikini and the belt with shining jewelry, such as earrings, necklaces or bracelets. Fasten the jewelery onto the bikini bottom and the belt using the needles and the thread. Do not use sharp jewelry that can prick your skin or belly.
Fix three large colorful feathers into your hair using a hair grip.
Wear additional jewelry on your neck and wrists. Avoid wearing large earrings, as in the heat of dancing you may rip the earrings out of your ears.
Wear make-up that goes with the color of your costume. Wear high-heeled shoes.
