Vitamin B17, otherwise known as laetrile, is considered useful in the fight against both cancer and sickle-cell anemia, which have been linked to a B17 deficiency; it can kill cancer cells without hurting normal, healthy cells. B17 is not yet offered in supplement form, as it has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration; therefore, adding B17 to your diet involves choosing and eating certain beneficial foods.

      Eat apricots. They are a sweet and juicy fruit. The B17 benefits are in the apricot kernel, so eat the apricot seed. Eating apricot seeds at least two to three times per week is ideal.

      Incorporate chickpeas into your diet. Chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, are an abundant source of vitamin B17. Hummus, which is made from chickpeas, is a staple of Middle Eastern cuisine. Dip vegetables in hummus as a tasty snack.

      Supplement your diet with wheatgrass. Purchase commercial wheatgrass juice. It is also offered at smoothie establishments.

      Try bitter almonds. They have, as their name suggest, a bitter taste, so they're not as tasty as the sweet almonds that most people are familiar with. Snack on them once or twice per week to add B17 to your diet. If you have trouble eating them, mix the bitter almonds with sweet almonds.
