My KitchenAid Dishwasher Will Not Fill With Water
While it is important that your dishwasher has a reliable water supply, you should not expect the dishwasher to completely fill up with water. You should, however, expect the dishwasher to have a steady flow of water coming in to it so that there is enough water to adequately clean your dishes. If your dishwasher is not getting enough -- or any -- water flowing into it, there are a few things you can do to improve the appliance's operation. Does this Spark an idea?

Turn the water valve underneath the sink to make sure the water supply is turned on. Turn the valve clockwise to allow water to flow through it.

Examine the overfill protection float, which is located at the front of the base of the dishwasher. Move any obstructions -- including dishes and debris -- away from the float.

Look for suds in the dishwasher. If there is evidence of suds or soap inside the appliance, the dishwasher may not fill with water as it should.

Press firmly on the door to make sure it is closed. The dishwasher will not fill if the door is even slightly open.

Pres the "Start/Resume" button if it is blinking.
