How to Make an Animal Sculpture Out of Trash

Turn trash into sculpture

Turing trash into sculpture takes more imagination than any other component. Keep your eyes open to the possible animal forms found in discarded and recycled material, as this will indicate the direction and size of your sculpture. There are many new adhesives found in hardware stores that can connect the various components of your creation. Allow your imagination free rein and cut, crumble and otherwise make the trash you find fit your animal vision.

Things You'll Need

• Found objects
• Drill
• Nuts and bolts of various sizes
• Construction adhesive(one brand is Liquid Nails)
• Hacksaw
• Sandpaper

Instructions

1. 

   Trash plus imagination will turn into an animal sculpture

   Study photographs and video images of the animal you wish to immortalize in your sculpture.

2. Accumulate and study trash to see what forms parallel the animal shapes you have analyzed.

3. Form an armature to act as the backbone of your animal. You can make this from sturdy pieces of trash that will hold the weight of the rest of the form. Connect pieces by drilling holes and fastening with nuts and bolts and liquid adhesive. Be certain that the animal has a firm footing and will stand on its own as you proceed.

4. Add found objects to this form to flesh out the animal shape and posture. Use a hacksaw and sandpaper to refine trash until it fits the desired dimensions for your animal sculpture.
