How to Access the Overhead Light in a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan

Sometimes you just don't really realize how important a gadget is until it stops working when you need it. A prime example of this is the overhead light in your 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. If your overhead bulb burns out, you will have to change it. Accessing the bulb inside its plastic cover is not extremely difficult. However, it does require a certain amount of finesse because both the lens cover and the housing are made of plastic.

Instructions

    • 1

Pop the Caravan's hood and remove the negative battery cable with your socket set. This step is not necessary. However, it is a good safety precaution to take whenever you work on your Caravan's electrical system.

    • 2

Open the driver's door and kneel on the seat facing your overhead light.

    • 3

Gently wedge the tip of your screwdriver between the plastic lens cover and the overhead light's housing. Do this from the side of the light closest to the driver's seat.

    • 4

Slide the screwdriver forward and down until the cover pops free. Do not exert too much pressure because you can crack the lens cover or the light's plastic housing.
