How to Open the Back of a Timex Expedition Watch

Timex has been making watches since the 1850s and continues to do so today. The Expedition series of Timex watches has digital as well as analog watches in its collection. Each watch has a different type of back so opening the back of a Timex Expedition watch really depends on the type of Expedition watch you have. Essentially, there are two types: one has four screws holding the back to the watch, and the other is a simple, clip-in back that requires a case knife to remove it.

Instructions

    • 1

Unscrew the four screws holding the back to the Timex Expedition watch. Use a small screwdriver that fits into the grooves of the screws in order to avoid scratching or otherwise damaging the screws. These screws are tiny so set them aside somewhere safe. If you don't have screws holding on the back of your Expedition watch, then skip this step.

Slip a case knife into the groove between the watch back and the watch sides. Slip the knife in carefully and avoid scratching or otherwise damaging the back or side of the watch.

    • 3

Pop the back of the watch up and away from the watch with the case knife and set it aside somewhere safe while you work on the watch.
