How to Size Military Boots
Most military boots are waterproof and durable, which means they should last a while. Whether you spend a lot of time on your feet or not, wearing the proper size boot is important. Wearing a boot that is too big or too small for your feet may cause blisters, which can be very painful. If you are in the military, you may walk miles through sand, mud, water or snow, which may make your boots one of the most important parts of your uniform. Lay a piece of paper on the floor.

Put socks on your feet. The socks should be of a medium thickness, or socks that you would wear while wearing your boots.

Place your foot on the piece of paper. Line your heel up with the edge of the piece of paper.

Line the ruler up next to your foot, starting at your heel.

Draw a vertical line on the paper starting next to the edge of your big toe and down to your heel.

Draw a line on the paper, to mark both sides of your foot, at its widest point.

Repeat Steps 1 through 6 on your other foot.

Use the ruler to measure the length and width of both of your feet. Write down the measurements, in inches, on the paper.

Calculate your size by using the largest number of both the length and the width.

Compare your results to a boot size chart (see Resources). The chart will convert your size in inches to the appropriate shoe size.
