How to Learn the Basics About Transistors

How to Learn the Basics About Transistors thumbnail
A transistor is a basic three terminal component that is essential to modern electronics.

Transistors are essential to today's electronics technology. The development of the transistor has changed the world dramatically, resulting in such things as radios, cell phones and computers. These basic electronic components operate on the principle that certain materials can be made to perform as simple solid state (conductive element with no moving parts) devices. Materials are conductive in proportion to the number of free electrons that are available, but if impurities are introduced in a controlled manner, the conductivity can be increased.
