How to Use Karaoke CDG Software
There are many software applications available that can help you create a karaoke CD+G for your upcoming karaoke party. Learning how to create karaoke CD+Gs using software is a good way to make any song a karaoke song. CD+Gs are compact discs with graphics, which basically means that the CD contains both the music file and the lyrics file, with any additional graphics added. Using karaoke CD+G software to create a disc is simple, and there are many options available for further customization of karaoke CD+Gs.

Choose your desired karaoke CD+G creator software. There are many options available online, such as Power Karaoke's Karaoke CD+G Creator, Karaoke Builder Studio 3.0 and Power CD+G burner. (See Resources) These software programs can all be used to create your own karaoke CD+Gs.

Select the desired song on your computer. This is done in different ways, depending on the program you are using. If you are using Karaoke CD+G Creator, click on the magic wand icon to launch the "Create New Song Wizard." This is located on the program's toolbar. In Power CD+G burner, click "Add" in the relevant tab. If you want to convert a file, click the "Convert" tab, and if you want to burn your CD+G files to a disc, go to the "Burn" tab. Tracks uploaded must be CD quality.

Remove the vocals from the track as necessary. This can be done in Karaoke CD+G Creator and Karaoke Builder Studio 3.0. In Karaoke CD+G Creator, open the "Vocal Remover" tool by checking the box to "Run Power Vocal Remover" in the center of the "Select Soundtrack" screen. In Karaoke Builder Studio and Karaoke CD+G creator, there is no guarantee that you will be able to remove the vocals. You can always find an independent vocal removal program to do the job if you wish.

Add in the song lyrics. These can either be typed in or found on the Internet. There are a plethora of free lyrics websites online, and lyrics can also often be found in the booklet of a CD. Type or copy and paste the lyrics into the program's designated field. Power CD+G Burner is used specifically to burn CD+G discs, so if you are using it to create your CD+G disc, you should have the lyrics and audio files already prepared.

Synchronize the lyrics to the track. This is done differently, depending on the program, but in Karaoke CD+G Creator, click on the "Start Synchronizing" button then press the "Space" bar when each word is spoken. This is difficult to do well and may require multiple attempts before you get it right.

Burn your CD+G disc. Programs such as Karaoke CD+G Creator and Karaoke Builder Studio 3.0 are used to create the CD+G file, which can then be burned to a CD to create a karaoke disc by a compatible CD burner. Power CD+G Burner is one such program. Click "Add" to move the CD+G file or files into the program then click the "Burn" button in the bottom left hand corner.
