How to Customize Your YouTube Channel Banner
YouTube was founded in 2005 and is a website for sharing videos. Content on YouTube includes music videos, movie rentals, television shows and user-submitted videos for almost any topic imaginable. YouTube offers many options to its users, including the ability to customize their "channel" (user page) with custom colors and backgrounds. Users who have drawing power and achieve "Partner" status are given even more customization options.

Prepare your banner and save it to your computer's desktop.

Log into your YouTube account and go to your channel.

Click "Branding Options" at the top of the page next to "Edit Channel."

Click "Browse" under the "Channel Banner" heading.

Locate the banner file on your computer. Select the file and click "Open."

Scroll down and click "Save Changes." Your YouTube channel should now display your new banner.

Tips & Warnings
Custom banners are only available to YouTube "Partner" accounts. Regular YouTube users cannot have custom banners. YouTube Partners are users who produce original content that draws a wide audience. YouTube Partners must apply for Partner status. These members can place ads and gain revenue from video views.
Your banner cannot exceed 875 pixels by 150 pixels for branded, or 875 pixels by 75 pixels for enhanced. File size cannot exceed 256k and must be in either GIF, JPEG or PNG format.
