Cutting Hair Into a Bob Style
-
1
Wash the hair with shampoo and conditioner then towel dry.
-
2
Part the hair with a tooth comb how you would usually part your hair. Bobs work fantastically well with a fringe, a side parting and with a middle parting so all are suitable.

3
Ask a friend or a stylist to create seven sections with the hair and secure them with clips. These should be: left side, top, right side, left crown, right crown, left nape and right nape. The following steps should be done by the same friend or stylist.
-
4
Leave down a section of the hair at the nape of the neck. This should be approximately one inch in thickness.
-
5
Comb the hair straight and cut at the length desired. Most bobs are chin length or slightly longer so work around this length. However, be careful not to pull the hair or put to much tension on the hair when cutting as it will appear a lot shorter and uneven.
-
6
Unclip one section of hair at a time and cut to the same length as the hair at the back of the head. By doing this section by section, it should be easier to control the cut and make sure the hair is all cut to the same length. You can also avoid unevenness if you keep the scissor blades at a horizontal angle.
-
7
Dry the hair with a hairdryer and style as desired. If your hair is curly, you may need to use flat irons or straighteners to style.

Tips & Warnings
A bob haircut is prefect for individuals with thin hair as the weight from longer hair will be removed, allowing more bounce.
