How to Make Ribbon Bow Flip-Flops

How to Make Ribbon Bow Flip-Flops thumbnail
Hair bows attached to flip-flops give them a completely different look.

Flip-flops are one of the most well-loved summer shoe styles -- or year-round style, depending on your climate. Although you can choose from a variety of different flip-flops, many of them are quite boring. Flip-flops that include embellishments or bows can be a little pricey compared to the plain-colored options. Instead of spending your money on fancy flip-flops, make your own using a pair of cheap flip-flops and old -- or new -- hair bows.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn both hair bows over. Cut the bows from each barrette.

    • 2

Add a dot of craft glue to the middle of one of the straps on a flip-flop. Add a drop of glue to the backside of one of the bows.

    • 3

Press the bow directly onto the top of the flip-flop.

    • 4

Clamp two clothespins on either side of the middle of the hair bow to keep it attached to the flip-flop.

    • 5

Repeat Steps 2 through 4 with the second bow and flip-flop.

    • 6

Allow both flip-flops to set for 24 hours to ensure they dry completely.
