Homemade Laundry Detergent Without Borax

Borax is the name of a mineral compound that is mined. It is included in many household cleanser recipes, because it is an effective cleaning agent, repels insects and mold, and deodorizes. However, you may not be able to find borax in your local supermarket, or you may be averse to using it because it is mildly toxic. Laundry soap can be made without using borax. Castile, a mild soap made of vegetable oil, is a safe and effective laundry aid when combined with other household items.
